6 Month Check Up

Talan had his 6 month check up this morning. He weighs 14 pounds, 7 ounces. The doctor said that he is in the 25th percentile for weight and 50th percentile for head circumference and length (adjusted for his prematurity). Talan had to see a different doctor this morning because Dr. West was full. For the first time, Talan wasn't quite sure about someone and kind of clingy. Overall, he did very well and handled his shots like a trooper.

Yet Another First

Talan has had a fascination with the rain forest animals that hang above him in his jumperoo. He is always trying to get them, but has always needed assistance. Well ... not anymore!

Big Boy Bath

Talan just had his first big boy bath! He loved playing with his rubber duckies!

Jumperoo

Before we went to Pennsylvania, Talan loved his jumperoo we bought him. However, all he could do is put his tiptoes on the ground and play with the toys. What a difference 11 days makes! Now, he bounces and jumps up and down and turns himself in circles! He's getting so big so fast!

Sweet Potatoes

Since Talan has mastered cereal and isn't too fond of it, we started to introduce some baby food. Yesterday we gave him some sweet potatoes ... he loved them! In fact, he ate half of the jar in the first sitting!

Highchair

Before we left for Pennsylvania, we started feeding Talan some cereal. It became too difficult to feed him without a highchair, though, because he's so squirmy! When we got back, we had a highchair waiting for him. Here are some pictures of Talan's first feeding in his high chair.

Father's Day

We spent Aaron's first Father's Day while in Pennsylvania. Talan gave his father a poem with his footprint on it, a card, and wore a special outfit! We also got an ice cream cake at Dairy Queen. It was pretty fun!

Talan's Money

When we left, Pap gave Talan a 50 dollar bill. Talan was so cute! He grabbed it and started to investigate! We are in for it now!

Philadelphia

Towards the end of our trip, we went to downtown Philadelphia and toured the area. We went to the US Mint, saw Benjamin Franklin's grave, and went to the Liberty Bell.

So, we just got back from an 11 day trip to Pennsylvania to visit Aaron's family. Talan did a great job on his first trip on a plane! Yeah! It was a long trip, but it was fun to see Talan interact with his Great Grandparents,Great Aunt and Uncle, and second cousin. We have quite a few pictures to share ...
