Halloween Cookies

We have started a tradition of making Halloween cookies every year. This year, Talan was old enough to partake. We definitely won't be sharing these with anyone because it wasn't the most sanitary of cooking processes with a 22 month old involved, but it still was an adorable, lasting memory...

Maternity Band

I ordered a maternity support band recently to hopefully help relieve some of the back pain I've been experiencing this pregnancy. It came in the mail yesterday and I was so excited to try it on to see if it would help. Talan had other plans for it, though ...Not a bad way to come home after a long week of parent-teacher conferences. How can you not love this boy?

Baby Updates and More

First things first, we have finally decided on a name. We will be naming baby #2 Hunter Scott. Aaron and I were having a very hard time agreeing upon a unique name that we didn't associate with any of the students we have worked with thus far. Hunter Scott was the name we said we were going to name a baby boy back when we were dating, so we finally decided to go back to that.

I am officially 25 weeks pregnant today and am feeling pretty good! I am having a lot of lower back pain because Hunter is sitting really low. Besides the back pain, everything else is going really well. If I can get through this semester without any more contractions or problems, we'll be home free! :)

Finally, we have decided on some important December dates for our events. Mark your calendars now so you can hopefully celebrate with us!

Big Boy Bead

We decided that it was time to convert Talan's crib to a toddler bed. He never actually climbed out of the crib, but we caught him trying a couple of times. Rather than have him get hurt, we decided to bite the bullet and just do it, especially before Hunter joins us.

Talan has done relatively well this weekend adjusting to his new bed. He has been getting up once a night, but we have been able to get him to go straight back to sleep in his bed. He was up at 5:30 Saturday morning, which we weren't too thrilled about, but it was the first night after all. Our boy is getting so big!

Pumpkin Decorating

The night after the pumpkin patch, Aaron and Talan decorated our pumpkin. Talan really enjoyed it! I can only imagine what he will do when we actually carve a pumpkin one year!

Pumpkin Patch

We went to the pumpkin patch today to enjoy some nice "fall" weather before the patch got too crowded closer to Halloween. Although it took the kids a bit to warm up to the idea, they ended up having a blast and running all over the place.

Claire and Talan were not too interested in this photo op. Getting smiles today was quite the difficult task.

Here we are entering the corn maze ... the fun has just begun! This is when Talan really starting to enjoy himself.

After many attempts, this is the best family photo we could get. Talan was having so much fun running that he was not interested in stopping to pose for pictures.

After Talan was done playing with all of the hay bales, he starting RUNNING through the corn maze. It was so much fun to watch him take off and giggle as he was running. He would occasionally stop to make sure we were behind him, but then would resume his running.

Talan loved running through the field with the pumpkins. He couldn't get enough of it!

First Haircut

So, it's been absolutely forever since my last post, but I am resolving to try to do better. I finally downloaded 6 months worth of pictures from my camera, but have decided there is way too much stuff to post. So, I'm just going to start fresh.Aaron and I took Talan to get his first haircut this past Saturday. The place is called Snips and Snaps for Kids and is especially made for kids. They had T.V.s at every station and old Game Cube systems with games to play. They also had quite the selection of movies and shows for the kids to watch.

Talan refused to sit in a chair on his own, refused a gown, and we bribed him with a sucker before we even started. But, here is the beginning shot:
"MMM ... Yummy" is what I was being told here.Talan wasn't interested in watching anything on the T.V. Instead, he wanted to do his new favorite thing, which is read. Can't complain!

Here he is by the end of the haircut. Now he wanted to sit in the race car ... hopefully next time he'll sit on his own and be a little bit more cooperative.

All in all, he didn't do too bad, especially for the first one. He's getting so big!
