First Haircut

So, it's been absolutely forever since my last post, but I am resolving to try to do better. I finally downloaded 6 months worth of pictures from my camera, but have decided there is way too much stuff to post. So, I'm just going to start fresh.Aaron and I took Talan to get his first haircut this past Saturday. The place is called Snips and Snaps for Kids and is especially made for kids. They had T.V.s at every station and old Game Cube systems with games to play. They also had quite the selection of movies and shows for the kids to watch.

Talan refused to sit in a chair on his own, refused a gown, and we bribed him with a sucker before we even started. But, here is the beginning shot:
"MMM ... Yummy" is what I was being told here.Talan wasn't interested in watching anything on the T.V. Instead, he wanted to do his new favorite thing, which is read. Can't complain!

and became shy! Almost done ...
Here he is by the end of the haircut. Now he wanted to sit in the race car ... hopefully next time he'll sit on his own and be a little bit more cooperative.

All in all, he didn't do too bad, especially for the first one. He's getting so big!

Christmas

We had a wonderul, relaxing Christmas. It was so nice to be able to enjoy the time with Talan and watch him explore everything. After his birthday on Saturday and then presents all day on Christmas, Talan really caught on and starting to think that any present belonged to him (which the practically did!). Here are a lot of pictures from all of our events ... be prepared!

Christmas Eve

On Christmas Eve, Talan and I met the Waknitz family at church and we then went back to their house for a traditional Waknitz Christmas Eve meal of Potato Cheese soup ... quite yummy!

Chistmas Day

Aaron, Talan, and I woke up around 8:30 Christmas morning and opened presents. We then enjoyed some cinnamon rolls for breakfast. Nana Rockey came over and we opened presents again ... :) Then Grandma Faye came over and practically brought a whole toy store! Quite crazy ... I guess you could say that Talan is loved and just a little bit spoiled! We had a wonderful lunch and then relaxed throughout the night. Here are a few pictures from the day.

Zsilavec Christmas

We went over to Grandma Faye's house on the 27th to celebrate with Aaron's cousin Lynn and her family. We had a wondeful turkey lunch and spent some good, quality time together. Brittany was so kind and helped Talan open some presents.

Happy Birthday, Talan!

Emily was a lifesaver and helped decorate while we were getting ready. She did such a great job!

Claire really enjoyed Great Grandpa Monroe's wrapping job of Talan's presesnt! :)

Birthday Cake

We got Talan's cake from Baker Wee, thanks to Grandma Faye. They have the best cakes ever!

We got Talan a little cake for him to dig into. It was decorated the same as the sheet cake, but Talan size. Wow, there was a lot of frosting!

I almost forgot to put on his crown! This is the same crown that his cousins wore on their 1st birthday!
